We’ve provided some helpful information for you and your family as you consider attending a Lakeshore Day Camps in 2021.
1. Planning for Summer
Summer day camps are required to follow all existing worker health and safety requirements as outlines in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations, public health requirements as directed by the local medical officer of health and other relevant requirements as outlined in policies and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries. We are moving ahead and planning for a great summer of camp!
2. Registration Policy
To give you confidence as you plan your summer we have changed our registration policy. Should the province or the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit make restriction to your child attending day camps at Lakeshore then a full refund will be issued. Alternatively, unless a note is submitted by a medical doctor, refunds will be issued on the following term: Cancelling a registration beyond one month before a scheduled start date permits a full refund less $20. Cancelling a registration within one month to two weeks prior to a scheduled start date permits a 50% refund. Cancelling a registration less than two weeks prior to a scheduled start date requires the guest to pay the full cost of the registration.
3. New Policies and Procedures
Lakeshore is preparing to adapt our programs and lower capacity to meet the guidelines we expect to receive from the Government of Ontario. Furthermore, Lakeshore is committed to having both the safest and most fun camper experience possible in 2021. Activities being prepared for this summer will look very different than other years. By creating avenues to discover new things and learn new skills, students will be enabled to experience individual based tasks to lower germ contact and spread.
4. More Details to Come
We will continue to share information with our camper parents as we are given more details by the Government. Our recommendation is for parents to confidently register their children’s weeks of camp as soon as possible so they don’t miss out on another summer of fun at camp!
